Tongcheng Travel Holdings Limited recently released its 2026 half-year and second-quarter financial results.
As travel consumption has further integrated into people's daily lives, Tongcheng Travel's annual paying users hit 254 million, and its cumulative annual bookings reached 2.04 billion as of the second quarter of 2026.
Tongcheng Travel posted revenue of 9.99 billion yuan ($1.49 billion) in the first half of 2026, with a year-on-year increase of 10.5 percent. Transportation revenue totaled 3.96 billion yuan, and accommodation revenue totaled 2.85 billion yuan, with core businesses maintaining sound growth momentum.
In the first half of 2026, multiple regions nationwide rolled out a spring break policy for primary and secondary students, further unleashing travel demand. As of the first half of 2026, Tongcheng Travel's service for those who took their first-ever flight had served 200,000 passengers in total.
AI technologies are making travel services more convenient and efficient. In the first half of 2026, Tongcheng Travel rolled out offerings including AI translation and AI audio guides. By the end of the second quarter of 2026, its AI agent DeepTrip had over 10 million global users. Its AI audio guide services are available at tourist sites, including the Yanoda Rainforest Cultural Tourism Zone in Hainan province and Prince Gong's Mansion in Beijing.
Boosted by visa facilitation policies, rich cultural and tourism activities and improved services, "China Travel" continues to gain momentum among international tourists. HopeGoo, Tongcheng Travel's international travel platform, recorded a 102 percent year-on-year rise in paying users in the second quarter of 2026, with inbound tourism booking volume surging 157 percent year-on-year.
Other revenue, including the hotel management business, rose 46.3 percent year-on-year to 1.99 billion yuan in the first half. As of the end of the second quarter, the total number of hotels in operation under Elong Hotel Technology Group and Wanda Hotels and Resorts exceeded 3,500.
