Zhangjiajie belongs to Humid Subtropical Monsoon Climate. Experiencing moderate climate Zhangjiajie also has abundant rainfall and rich sunshine. There non-frost period is long and the freeze-up is short. So Zhangjiajie is a nice place for traveling with a pleasant weather. The average annual sunshine is about 1,440 hours, and average annual temperature is about 16℃, and the average annual rainfall is about 1,400 mm.
The average altitude in Zhangjiajie city area is about 183 meters and the altitude of the scenic spots is about 1100 meters. So, the day and night difference in temperature is big and may reach to 10℃.The hottest month in Zhangjiajie is in summer. But the monthly average temperature is about 27℃. And the coldest month is January with average temperature of about 4.3℃.
