Western Hunan Promotes Cultural Tourism

On October, 27, the Publicity Department of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, Office of the Leading Group of Hunan Provincial Cultural Reform and Development and Hunan Provincial Tourism Bureau jointly held a meeting in Zhangjiajie, aiming to develop and promote the western Hunan’s cultural tourism industry and integrate the development of culture and tourism. More than 70 representatives from various tourism enterprises attended the meeting. Director of the Hunan Publicity Department, Xu Yousheng also delivered a speech at the meeting. 

Western Hunan has abundant fairy mountains, rustic folkways, unique culture and resources. Its tourism reserves, including more than 70 national and world-level tourism resources and 49 national intangible cultural heritages, account for 41% of the province’s total. Tapping on this tourism structure, it can enrich the contents of cultural tourism, upgrade tourism quality and accelerate the transformation and upgrading of the industry.

At present, as the three-dimensional transport network in western Hunan has been formed, ecological tourism led by the picturesque Zhangjiajie, cultural and ecological tourism headed by the charming Fenghuang and exploration of ancient cities, towns and villages led by Hongjiang are undergoing rapid development.
