    The Changde Municipal Culture, Radio, Television, Press and Publication Bureau revealed that the original cartoon series "Liuhai Cutting Firewood" has been completed, ready for its premiere on Hunan TV Golden Eagle Cartoon Channel this month. The animated cartoon is scheduled to be presented on dozens of provincial or municipal TVs at the end of this month.The play with a total investment of over 18 million yuan is produced by Changde Chuangyuan Digital Sci-tech Co., Ltd. The hero Liuhai is a young man with virtue and filial piety, hardworking and optimistic. The traditional love story was adapted to a legendary cartoon full of ambition, optimism and fantasy. The adventurous stories are expected to help teenagers understand the essence of life besides entertainment.The legend of "Liuhai Cutting Firewood" is Changde's intangible cultural heritage under the provincial-level protection. The cartoon series feature the display of unique local folk customs and the in-depth interpretation of ideas in folklores.     Three National Famous Tourism Towns (Villages) in Hunan

    Recently, the second batch of national famous tourism towns (villages) with characteristic landscape have been released to the public. Hunan's Jiayi Town of Pingjiang County, Caitaiyuan Villiage of Dingzi Town, Wangcheng County, and Heye Town of Shuangfeng County are on the list.The selection of national famous tourism towns (villages) with characteristic landscape aims at propelling the planning and construction of small towns and development of tourism in rural areas. A total of 200 applications were submitted to the relevant departments for approval in 2010. After careful examination and public announcement, 111 towns (villages) obtained this title.Last year, the Hunan Provincial Tourism Bureau launched "3521" project in a bid to push forward the development of tourism in rural areas during three years (2010-- 2012).     The Seventh day of the seventh month of the lunar calendar, commonly known as “The Chinese Valentine’s day”, falls on Aug. 6. During the festival, rare magnificent sea of clouds appeared in Wulingyuan scenic and Historic Interest Area, which added romance to the journey of tourists from home and abroad. On Aug.6, Emperor Mountain, Yuanjiajie,and Huangshizhai were covered by thick fog after several days of rain. However, sea of clouds emerged at 4:00 pm of Aug.7 after the rain stopped. Thousands of peaks typical of Zhangjiajie landform were arrayed in a white sea of clouds, looking like Penglai Fairyland and real floating mountains in the movie Avatar.It is reported that during the festival, tourists flooded into Wulingyuan boasting such love spots as Couple Rock, a Couple’s Meeting from far away and Lover’s Valley.     ShaPing Xiang Embroidery Museum presented Xiang (Hunan) embroidery of the reunited painting Dwelling in Fuchun Mountain to National Museum of China as permanent preservation in Beijing on August 5, 2011.Mao Yongzhen, curator of ShaPing Xiang Embroidery Museum, said that he spent two years on its plan and preparation. He invited Liu Aiyun, a master of arts and crafts, to instruct over 30 provincial artists of Xiang Embroidery. After five months'efforts, the same-size work of the original painting was made, representing the elegant panorama of Fuchun River in Zhejiang Province.The artwork is 13m long and 50cm high. It integrates painting, calligraphy, seal, and poetry, and uses threads of different shades to achieve the artistic effect of "Chinese ink presenting five colors".Various stitches are used to display the strokes, forms, and verve of 956 Chinese characters in preface and postscript.
