On September 17, 2011, the Second Session of China Hunan Tourism Commodities Exposition ceremoniously kicked off in Xibu Street, Wulingyuan district.The exposition with the theme of “Happy tour and shopping in beautiful Hunan” was part of 2011 China Hunan International Tourism Festival, running from Sept.17 to 19. It had nearly 500 exhibition booths, covering over 50, 000 square meters of area. On September 16, the seven-day 2011 Zhangjiajie International Country Music Week drew to a successful end with the folk song "I sing in the mountains" echoing in Hallelujah Concert Hall at Huanglong (Yellow Dragon) Cave tourist area.43 famous bands from 28 countries were awarded Best Vocal Performance, Best Performance, Best Performer, Best Stage Appeal, Best Creativity and Special Award at the closing ceremony. Mark Levine Band from Los Angeles, the birthplace of international country music, won the Special Contribution Award for the second successive year.It is estimated that 250,000 tourists visited Zhangjiajie to experience the natural heritage, Huxiang culture, and folk songs during this week, up by 20% compared with the same period last year.

URUMQI, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- A total of 500 ethnic minority teachers from the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region will be dispatched to universities in inland China for a one-year training program that is designed to train more bilingual teachers and boost educational quality in the region, according to regional educational authorities.In addition, 225 of the region's Chinese teachers, along with 60 elementary and secondary school headmasters, have been sent to universities in the municipalities of Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin, as well as Jiangsu Province, for the purpose of undergoing training or taking up temporary posts in elementary and secondary schools, according to the region's education department.The Chinese government and the Xinjiang regional government have allocated 76 million yuan (11.9 million U.S. dollars) to send more than 6,000 teachers to inland universities between 2003 and 2006.
