The government of Zhang Jiajie invested 400 million yuan to the Wu Linyuan scenic spot and covered a 70-thousand-square-meter piece of land to build this tourist street with stream surrounded which is featured with entertainment, shopping, local snacks and hotels, etc. and which is for leisure and holiday in order to manage the target of being one of the international tourist attractions, to present as the symbol of the best products of Wu Linyuan scenic spot, and to improve the quality of the service and tourism products there for the satisfaction of the tourists and also the local dwellers.  Mr. Chen Kezu, the vice chairman of the branch of the Zhang Jiajie travel agency association, made it pretty clear in the signing ceremony that all the nine travel agencies that had signed the agreement with the agency of the Xi Bu street had received, till now, a great number of tourists which actually makes up more than 70 percent of the whole of the Zhang Jiajie travel region and there, totally, had been 3.10 million tourists who had visited the main scenic spots of Wu Linyuan to the end of this October so that the 70 percent tourists brought 500 million yuan or so to Wu Linyuan scenic spot if the consumption level of average per capita be counted as 200 to 300 yuan and they therefore had promoted the local travel consumption.Translated By Vincent Chou

    New Liuyang River Bridge to Start Construction Early Next Year

    The Liuyang River Bridge on Sanyi Road, Changsha City, was blasted at 11:08 on December 12. In accordance with the design of bidirectional eight driveways, the new bridge is to start construction in January of 2012 and is scheduled to be completed and open to traffic in June of 2014.Gai Sihai, the engineer who conducted the blasting, revealed that only the main bridge was dismantled through blasting, and the two approach bridges were mechanically pulled down due to the close distance to citizens' housing. Three bridge towers and 39 piers were exploded this time, with 100 milliseconds interval between explosion of each bridge pier.The explosion is recognized as"Changsha's Largest Bridge Blasting"for its large amount of explosives as well as environmental complexity. Waste residues in the riverway will be disposed within seven days after explosion so as to avoid water pollution.     A prestressed concrete box girder, which was 32.6 meters long, 12 meters wide and weighed 800 plus tons, was safely and accurately settled at the Sitouchong Bridge, a pass-through of the Shanghai-Kunming High-speed Railway in Hunan section, by a 900 tons’bridge girder erection machine at 9 o'clock of December 9.Shanghai-Kunming High-speed Railway, one of the national key programs of the "four longitudinal and four crosswise high-speed railways", is made up of three sections, namely, Shanghai-Hangzhou section, Hangzhou-Nanchang section and Changsha-Kunming section. Upon completion, it will only take 4 hours to travel from Changsha to Kunming and Hangzhou respectively with the design speed of 250 kilometers per hour.The 416-kilometer long Changsha-Kunming section, 83.15% of which is to be tunnels, is scheduled to connect such cities as Changsha, Xiangtan, Loudi, Shaoyang and Huaihua.
