Commercial district

Regarding to commercial secrecy and property rights protection, many commercial areas and shops also prohibit photo taking. Thus tourists would better be prudent in above places in case of unnecessary misunderstanding.

“Latent rules”of photo taking

In traveling, even if there are no“No Photo”signs in some occasions, tourists should also be particularly noticed when snapping.

Private property

Legally speaking, individual can not restrain others not to take photo of this own belongs in the public places, but he can limit others not to taking when they enter his private place, especially some private museums or exhibition halls. Even if these exhibitions are opened to the public, the owner still has the right to prohibit or expel tourists or photographers’ taking.

Wild animals

It is not far from taking photos of the protected wild animals, but is to forbid some photography actions that may destroy their living environment and affect their life security. If you want to have such need, early application and permission should be gained form local relevant sectors.

Photo taboos of special countries

In Saudi Arabia, taking photo of the local citizens in the public is banned without their permission, especially for women. Or religious police will stop, expose the films or erase the photos, severely may suffer from legal sanction of the country.

In South Korea, there is severe limitation to photos. Generally speaking, military facility, airport, dam, railway, national museum and entertainment places are forbid. Aerial photo and high angle shot from high-raise buildings belong to banded areas.

As Thailandis the kingdom of Buddhism, every Buddha is holy and inviolable disregarding their size or damage, and climbing for taking photo or disre spectful behaviors are forbid. Besides, due tu the high social status of Thailand monks and priests, focusing the camera on them is also prohibited.

As Australian aboriginals are relatively conservative, they do not like photo taking, especially rushed photography.
