The Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Intercity Railway started runs of the whole line that day.Changde-Yiyang-Changsha High-speed Railway, an important part of Chongqing-Xiamen Passageway, connects with Chongqing-Zhangjiajie-Changde Railway. Its Changde-Yiyang Section shares the line with Hohhot-Nanning Passageway. The high-speed railway has a total length of 156.82 km, with a design speed of 350 km/h. An increasing number of tourists visit Yuelu Mountain as maple leaves turn red. This year the maple leaves turn red earlier than usual. On November 19, the 11th Yuelu Mountain Red Maple Festival will open at the east entrance, as a celebration of the 60th anniversary of the opening of Yuelu Mountain Scenic Area.Yuelu Mountain, located to the west of Xiangjiang River in Changsha, Hunan Province, is often referred to as one of the four best fall foliage viewing areas in China. In early winter, maple leaves overwhelming the mountain are at their prettiest, which can be seen anywhere on the mountain, especially at Aiwan Pavilion, Qingfeng Gorge, Lushan Temple, and on mountaintop. On 25 September, PPRD tourism department representatives signed the "PPRD Tourism Alliance Cooperative Agreement" at the 2017 PPRD Chief Executive Joint Conference in Changsha. The agreement was reached under the ideas of shared resources, products, market, information, and common benefit. The Pan-Pearl River Delta Region includes nine provinces (Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Hainan, Sichuan, Guizhou, and Yunnan) and two special administrative regions of (Hong Kong and Macao), which is why it is called the “9+2”. The area stretches across eastern, central, and western China. It is of great strategic and economic importance, as it accounts for one-fifth of the national territory and one-third of the population and economic aggregate. The "9+2" parties agreed to improve cooperation in the following seven areas: 1. Establish PPRD tourism brands and travel routes; 2. Have total tourism marketing; 3. Promote tourism cooperation among Mainland, Hong Kong, and Macao; 4. Boost inbound tourism; 5. Build a strong tourism market order; 6. Strengthen tourism personnel training and think tank cooperation; and, 7. The review meeting on Zhangjiajie national demonstration zone for protected eco-origin product (PEOP) was held on Sept. 9, 2017. The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine Assessment Group announced that Zhangjiajie passed on-site evaluation. It marked that Zhangjiajie becomes the first national PEOP demonstration city in Hunan Province. Zhangjiajie City boasts six well-known titles of "China's first batch of World Natural Heritage Sites", "first batch of world geological parks", "'Zhangjiajie landscape’ origin", "China's first national forest park", "first batch of national 5A-level scenic spots", and "national civilized scenic area". Its rich natural endowment of resources nurture various products. It was said that exploration, protection, and utilization of these eco-origin products, and establishing the demonstration city in Hunan, are crucial to build Zhangjiajie into the "Splendid Xiaoxiang" all-for-one tourism center. These will play a leading role in promoting Zhangjiajie’s ecological civilization and green development. A batch of high quality eco-origin products will be explored and protected while developing the demonstration city. With these efforts, the supply-side structural reform in tourism consumer market will be implemented; consumers satisfied; and, high-end market expanded at home and abroad.

“Hunan Week” at the Astana Expo 2017 opens in China Pavilion in Astana, Kazakhstan from July 18 to July 20. It will offer visitors an opportunity to enjoy Hunan teas, drinks, and cuisine, and appreciate Hunan porcelain, culture, and beautiful sceneries. The Astana Expo was launched June 10 and will last 93 days. Ten Chinese provinces are attending the event. Hunan's traditional products and crafts, such as tea, porcelain, embroidery, alcohol, and the beautiful scenery of Zhangjiajie, Langshan Mountian, and Dongting Lake, will be promoted. More than 80 Hunan companies will participate to demonstrate Hunan's energy development. Among them are Zoomlion, Sany, Sunward, and HNAC Technology Co., Ltd., which are suppliers for the Expo's main building construction. The China Council for the Promotion of Industrial Trade (CCPIT) Hunan Sub-council Chairman He Jian announced that the Hunan delegation will have three main tasks: organizing “Hunan Week”; presenting the Hunan (Changsha)-Alma-Ata Project Promotion; and conducting business negotiations in the “Belt and Road” countries, such as Russia, Belarus, and Poland. The expo theme is “Future Energy”. Hunan Development and Reform Commission Deputy Director and Hunan Energy Bureau Director Liu Nianlai announced that Hunan wind power, photovoltaics, and advanced manufacturing companies will be promoted at “Hunan Week”. They will negotiate cooperation with the Kazakhstan government and companies in order to facilitate Hunan's participation in the “Belt and Road” Initiative.

The Colorful Hunan-China Acrobatics Show was held at Guro Art House in Seoul on May 11, 2017. The show was co-hosted by China's Ministry of Culture and Hunan provincial government, and organized by the China Cultural Center in Seoul, Hunan Culture Department, and the Guro Cultural Consortium.More than 500 people watched the show, including the Minister Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in South Korea Wang Luxin; Chinese Cultural Counselor to South Korea and Director of China Cultural Center in Seoul Shi Ruilin; and representatives of Chinese and South Korean cultural organizations, as well as Seoul residents.The show integrated straw hat dancing, shoulder ballet, aerial ring dancing, folk singing, and mimicry to illustrate the charm of Chinese variety art and Huxiang culture.After watching the show, a Mexican student exclaimed that she was deeply impressed by it. She noted that it was her first time to see Chinese acrobats perform.Many overseas Chinese came to the show. They enjoyed it and hoped more Chinese cultural activities would come to South Korea.The show is part of the “Chinese Nationalities Culture Season” organized by the China Cultural Center in Seoul.
