To celebrate the World Earth Day, an activity themed on “Starting to protect the Earth from a young age” was held at Siyuan Kindergarten of Jishou City, Hunan Province on April 20, 2016. Under the guidance of teachers and with the help of parents, children made interesting toys themselves from recycled materials. The above photo shows children are playing with DIY “Rollers” made from their recycled milk powder tins. It is believed that this kind of activity will raise kids’ awareness of low-carbon living and environmental protection.

World's Longest and Highest Glass Bridge to Open in ZJJ Grand Canyon

China is set to unveil the longest and highest glass-bottomed bridge in the world in July.At 430-meter-long, six-meter-wide and 300 meters above the valley floor, the glass bridge will span across the canyon in Hunan's Zhangjiajie scenic spot.Upon completion, it will be the world's longest glass bridge without the use of any reinforced concrete. Designed by architect Haim Dotan, the bridge deck is wholly paved with transparent glass and can carry 800 people. Fifth Global Gathering to Extol Chinese Culture Held in Hunan

The 5th Global Gathering to Extol Chinese Culture was launched at Yuelu Academy on July 16. Themed with "Reading Chinese Classics, Passing Chinese Civilization and Building a Harmonious World", this chanting assembly brought together over 1,000 scholars studying on Chinese culture from home (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) and abroad and outstanding chanting representatives of all ages.After the opening ceremony, a get-together performance of "The Sound of Chinese Classics" was held.
