The 2017 China (Hengyang) Sixth Cole Flower Festival and Hunan Celebrity Eco-culture Tourism Festival kicked off in Huashan Village, Kuzongqiao Town, Hengyang County on Feb. 26, 2017. Hengyang County is the hometown of Wang Fuzhi (Pseudonym Chuansha), a Chinese philosopher of the late Ming and early Qing dynasties.The festival aims to highlight local celebrities and Huxiang culture while showcasing beautiful flower scenery, to promote the building of the county into a leisure tourism destination.The opening ceremony was simple but grand, starting with a straw dragon dance performed by Jiushi Township of the county.
